Hi, I’m Taiga.

I’m from Isesaki city in Gunma, center of Japan. Although I have been lived in Kagawa once when I was a kindergarten student, I came back to Gunma and now I go to University in Gunma. As an undergraduate student, I’m learning English, especially how to teach English to become a English teacher in the future. Actually, I haven’t decided yet whether I become a teacher or not, but I really like English (In fact, I was in English club in both junior high and high school.), so I want to study English more and make a livng by using English.

  1. New experience

This poem is about my memory of learning English grammar, preparing for EIKEN when I was almost nine years old. I was at home, and I was taught the grammar by my mother. This poem is about my memories of EIKEN examination when I was about 9 years old. It was autumn when I took the examination. My teacher of English language school, took me to the high school, where was the building of the EIKEN test. I went into their with her, but she didn’t enter the inside of the building, and I was alone there. The staff told me which room to go, and I entered the room.

3.English club

This one describes the scene when I made a speech in front of my classmates, as the activity of the English class. It was when I was maybe 8th grade. It was the first time for me to make a long English speech, and add to that fact, we can’t have the script in our hands. 4.Be verb

This poem describes the scene when I visit the English club for the first time. I was a 7th-grade student, and I haven’t decided which club to join. At that time, we, students can visit a club which you want to look around and know what they do. I like English since I was very young, so I wanted to go to the club and watch what it is like. I did not know any member there, and I was a little bit nervous. I went there with my friend, and open the door of the room which the English club used.

5. When my ALT went back to his country.

We, English club member became very friendly with our ALT. He was a really kind young man. We call him Eddy. Since he was in English club and almost all the activities which we did was conducted by him, we have spent a lot of time with him. And that makes us really like him. But one day, he did not come to the club. He also absent from an English class. We did not know why. And then our English teacher told us that he had an accident. It was when I was an 8th-grade student.

6. When I participate in the debate contest.

This poem describes the scene when I participated in a debate contest as one of the English club’s member. I was a 10th grade student, and it was the first time for me to participate such an official, big contest related to English. We prepared and practiced very hard since summer vacation, for this contest. At first, we did not know even what the debate in English is. But our hard preparation makes it possible to join the event. It was the time to show off what we spent a lot of our time for.

7. When I went to the US.

    This poem describes the scene when I went to the US for the first time.  I was an 11th-grade student and we went to the US as 研修旅行.  It was also my first time to go abroad.  I made a passport for this trip and I bought a new suitcase. We took an airplane, American Express and I had a 入国審査.  I went to Missouri state in America and everything was new for me. Arrive at the airport nearby the destination and went to the Missouri University by bus, in a midnight.

8. When I learned English to pass the entrance exam.

    This poem describes the scene when I studied for the entrance examination of the University.  I was a 12th-grade student and study English really hard. I love English and I spent a lot of time studying English although I have to study other subjects too.  I spent many hours reading English sentences or articles.  It was hard to study for such a long time, but when I read English, I was a little bit happy and it makes me able to study other subjects hard too.

9. When I entered this school.

    This poem describes the scene when I began studying at this University.  I didn’t know exactly what the “English Major” is like.  And I wonder what kind of class I am going to have.  It was very different from the English class in the high school, or junior high school.  We read a lot of books (this activity is called “Tadoku.” ), and also we heard a lot of English news (called “Extensive Listening”).  and those activity makes me feel a new world of English learning.

10. When I went to an English conversation school

    This poem describes the scene of going to an English conversation school when I was in a kindergarten.  Every Saturday afternoon, my grandmother took me to the school by her car and I joined and had a class for maybe about 1 hour.  It was a very small English conversation school, and there were only one Native speaker and one Japanese teacher.  5 to 10 students took the class with me.  I couldn’t use English even a little at that time.

Explanation of the theme of book.

The theme of this book is my memory of English language learning. All poems in this book describe scenes related to English. It could be the memory of my childhood, or maybe nowadays one, but all of them are about English. Some poems are poems which reflect my positive emotion to it, and some other poems reflect negatove one. It’s like one story or the history of how I dealt with the language, English. This book shows how I major English after all.

Free Wrighting of Ten Memories of Studying English.

1. When I first met the word “be-verb”
When I was very young and taught English by my mother I was surprised by hearing the word be verb. it was new for me because I didn’t care about such things like grammar before. It was shocking for me that I have to master how to use something called be verb, It was the only time that I was about to become hate of English. I was cried because I was very young like 4years old or something. Finaly my mother gave up to teach me about be verb because I really hate it and also I can address the work of EIKEN without knowing the exact meaning of the word be verb.

2.When I passed 5 grade in EIKEN.
It was cloudy day that my English teachet take me to the school to take the EIKEN examination.We had lost in a middle way to kaijyou of EIKEN examination. She asked me which way to go in a jyuutakugai even I was 9 years old boy. I was upset because she was really upset. But finally we made it and got to the kaijyou and I was alone but took the exam. The weather was really bad but the staff of there were really kind and I felt secured. there was a elderly who learn keenly and I felt ridiculous at that time.

3. When I did a speech in English lesson.

I had many speeches in my school. But I wasn’t good at having a speech. It was difficult because we have to memorize what we have to say and also we have to using ジェスチャーs and talk with loud voice. I wasn’t good at such things like speakin in front of people. I tend to be nervous while doing it and I finally skip what I wanted to say. Always it was like あどりぶ. Maybe I just don’t practice hard, I know it, but still, I hate those activities a little bit.

4. When I join the English Club.


It was one afternoon in April that I firstly visit the room of English Club. ALT name is EDDy very tall was stand and kindly smiled at us who was walking without purpose. I like English very much and I was interested in the club so I entered the room. In the room, it was really

Orangish because of Sunset and It was really comfortable. we did a game like UNO or monopoly in English I don’t know and I was not so sure that if that was able to called as a Club activitiy but I felt comfortable and I decided to join the cycliug at that time.

5. When my ALT went back to his country.
Eddy my Alt decided to left Japan and cgo back to his country. He had an accident and he broke his leg so badly and he has to go back to his country. His face was not seems happy and it was dark and I felt sad. We did a party to farewell for him. I thought that he was a man always smiling to the students but at that time, he didn’t. We were sad after he left. New alt comes but we all missed him and couldn’t foucus on our activity for a while.

6. When I participate the dibate contest.

I was in a center near my house. There’re many high school students and teachers. I was very nervous. But at the same time, I was also excited to join the activity. Although, we didnlt have prepared well but we had a mate there, so Iwas confident. There is a boy who was older than us and use really fluently English. He was a student of Maebashi high school, and we like him because he was so unique. We laugh at his funnyness but also wa respect his ability of presentation.

7. When I went to the US.

it was really new experience for me. Everything was new and stimulative, I was really excited. Cold wind and high sky. New city and a lot of foreign people. There is only English but no Japanese. we took a bus for more than three hours in a mid night. we run through the highway with many orange lights but nothing other than else

8. When I learned English to pass the entrance exam.

Every day, i read a long article again and again. It seems to be boring, but it wasn’t. Those sentences are much interesting than other studies. I really liked reading those. And I always read those Instead of doing other subject’s study. I had a class of reading afterschool. There are around 5people in that class and my こもん of English club teaches that class. I was really looking forward to those classes because I really loved it. Many prints are still in my desk that was used in those classes.

9. When I entered this school.

Honestly, I wasn’t thought tgis school as great school. i wasn’t satisfied with entering here because I originally wanted to become an engineer and also I believe that could pass the other courages. But things wasn’t as i had been thought and there’re many things that makes me excited and motivated and happy. It was unexpected things but I filled with feelings that it’s correct choice to chose here, I was satisfied at all.

10. When I went to a English conversation school.

Every Saturday, I went to a English school when I was in a kindergarten. Maybe I didn’t understand conversations and activities at there, but it was a little bit fun. I had friends who was much older than me, maybe he was juniour high student I think. Such environment made me nervous and in fact it was stress that I have to go there every week. But it was also true that it was fun if I do go to there.
